52 Inspiring Journal Prompts For Self-Love

Journaling gives you a grounded sense of self-worth in a world where it’s all too easy to compare yourself to others. It’s a weapon against self-judgment and those creeping feelings of not being “good enough.”

A regular journaling habit helps you transform negative thoughts and self-doubt into a steady confidence that isn’t shaken by life’s misfortunes.

Though journaling isn’t always easy – and you might find yourself staring at a blank page wondering where to start.

A journal lays on a table with leaves, a cup of tea and a bowl of fruit.

That’s where journal prompts come in. They’re an incredible tool to spark new insights and get your writing flowing. And they help motivate your journaling so it doesn’t become a monotonous chore.

I’ve been journaling for more than three decades, and I love using journal prompts for self-love whenever I need an extra boost of confidence.

And here are my favorite prompts to move you through self-doubt to confidence.

How to use these self-love prompts:

  • Pick just one prompt today. You don’t need to work through this list linearly or answer five questions at once.

  • Write without judging yourself. Set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes, let your pen move across the paper, and don’t worry about perfect grammar or handwriting.

  • Notice what comes up. If a prompt stirs up emotion, take a slow breath and write down what that feeling is trying to tell you.
